What Does It Mean To Be A Team?
s a momprenuer, it can often seem like I’m the one doing it all from taking the kids to hockey games to closing on deals. However, if there’s one thing I am certain of regarding my success, it’s the fact that I am nothing without my team.
Recently, my team and I were able to bond over capture the flag, table pong, and water balloon fights. We had a company field day the week of Labor Day at Zelienople Park near our office and my home. Our goal was to spend time as a team since most don’t see each other on a day-to-today basis.
In general, I LOVE capture the flag. We split up the teams with some members of the office staff, handyman, and leasing agents on both teams. Everyone is super competitive and it’s so fun to see everyone bond together.
I am so grateful to have such an incredible team working with me every day. There’s Lily Ofriel, my executive assistant who literally helps me with everything, even when I’m not around. My other assistants Sadie, my ray of sunshine, and Michaela, who is a powerhouse with contracts. Norge Borge, one of our sales and leasing agents, is the one I can count on to get the job done. Our other sale and leasing agent, Austin, knows everything one needs to know about our wonderful area and it’s history.
Every member of our team is unique in their skills and capabilities. Everyone is so great on their own but it’s the individual strengths of each person that really makes the difference. And every person who works together on our team really understands and values each others strengths and weaknesses.
Most importantly, what makes a team truly great is the willingness to help each other. When I hear employees say stuff like “that isn’t my job” I already have a sour taste in my mouth. If everyone is willing to help everyone else we can help each other out. When one of my girls is super overwhelmed with offers or emails or something the others can help and vice versa.
Without my team, I wouldn’t be where I am today. My clients wouldn’t have their contracts organized to perfection or know the best restaurants to celebrate closing on their dream homes. We have a mission and together we can achieve it.
